Hyacinth baskets are made from the water hyacinth plant. Water Hyacinth is grown in regions of South America. This beautiful purple plant grows in the water and can grow up to 1 meter above the water. This plant is a makes the perfect material for weaving as the fibrous fibers within are both very durable and flexible making it a superior alternative to other current weaving methods.
